6 Kettlebell Exercises You’re NOT Doing but Should Be.
I love basic kettlebell exercises and although you should spend the majority of your kettlebell training time on those, it’s OK to train some different skills from time to time. And to be honest I still consider these kettlebell exercises basic…or at least elements or components of basic kettlebell movements.
Quick Heads-Up: Our Spring schedule for Kettlebell Athletics Live Events is up. We’ve added some different workshops to the list. Hope to see you there. Click Here to check them out. Live Events!

Like the TGU stuff at the end.
This is usually the last step we make people take: they have to do partial TGUs in both directions on command to show they’ve really mastered the steps.
Good stuff Jason. Thanks for sharing!
Very Nice Jason
Beeeautiful! Can’t wait to take the workshop in April!
Fantastic. This is the kind of stuff that put Kettlebell Athletics above everybody else. Hope to see you soon for seminar. Can you do something for soccer. I am working with lots of kids that play soccer.
Excellent! I’ve been experimenting with various unilateral stances lately and find them very beneficial. Grab a light bell and try a few contralateral one arm swings to alternate sides of your body from a split stance. Kind of opens up a whole new world
.
Thanks Steve McKanna!
Thanks Laura. Are you coming to the Concord certification?
Wow. Thank you Rene. I appreciate that.
Any unilateral kettlebell exercises would be great for soccer. Research shows that split-stance, uni-lateral drills carry over better to split-stance type of movements etc…running, kicking…
Bi-lateral kettlebell exercises are still very beneficial but I like these variations for athletes.
Thanks again.
Thanks Wayne.
I played around with swings a few months back. i love the way they load the glute and hamstring. I’ll be posting some different variations soon that I know you’ll love.
Thanks again.
Jason,
Question re: The split squat/half kneeling lunge snatch.
standing snatches are swing/hip snap driven…so what is driving THAT snatch? What am I primarily calling upon to snatch that bell overhead?
Thanks
M
Hey Mandy,
Still hamstring and glutes and the standing exercises, but the erector spinea and upper back are involved more in the 1/2 kneeling.
I really dig the last movement. Thanks for the videos Jason! You always post good stuff.
