This is a part #2 or a follow up to the 6 Kettlebell Exercises You’re Not Doing post from a few days ago.

Kettlebell Athletics Coach DPT Mike Davis sent these over to me and I loved these kettlebell exercises as soon as I saw them.

6 Kettlebell Exercises You’re NOT Doing but Should Be.

I love basic kettlebell exercises and although you should spend the majority of your kettlebell training time on those, it’s OK to train some different skills from time to time. And to be honest I still consider these kettlebell exercises basic…or at least elements or components of basic kettlebell movements.

Get a Stronger Core, 3 kettlebell squats that work like a charm

Kettlebell training is the complete package. Although it’s a possibility to do some isolation or single joint exercises with kettlebells, the real beauty is in their full-body intergration.

The kettlebell front squat is one kettlebell exercise where you’ll feel much more working besides your legs and hips.

Kettlebell Weight Selection…The Truth

Another question that I receive very frequently is ” What size kettlebell should I buy?” or ” What size kettlebell should I get for my athletes or clients?”

Here’s the honest answer, there is no good answer. Actually this is good answer but usually not the one people are looking for. The kettlebell is a tool, just like any other tool in your arsenal. Would you ever ask ” What size dumbbell should I buy for my team or clients?” How about medicine balls? Would you ever consider that an entire team or your entire clientele would only need one size medicine ball? I doubt it. So why apply that logic to kettlebell training?

Kettlebells vs. Dumbells…what’s the difference

One of the most common questions I receive is “What’s the difference between and kettlebell and a dumbbell?” Quickly behind that question follows “Will kettlebell training carry-over into my activities of daily living more than training with dumbbells?” This is a hard topic to demonstrate via written word so I thought a short video would work best but I’ll give you quick low-down here as well.

Human Turkish Get-up & Windmills

During our Kettlebell Training Certifications and workshops it’s not uncommon for stupid human tricks to start manifesting themselves. The video below is a great example of a human turkish Get-up which was made popular by Jeff Martone.

200 Turkish Get-ups in 1 Minute

I had the awesome honor and pleasure of having 2 presentations this year at Perform Better’s 3-Day Functional Training Summit in Providence Rhode Island. First up was my “Unlocking the Kettlebell Basics” presentation. I usually cover 5-6 basic kettlebell exercises, teaching cues, progressions and regressions. We didn’t make it through all 5 this year but we were able to exlore each kettlebell exercise in greater details and some great questions were asked.
